This traditional style mustard fruit is made in Lombardy. It is made wih local Mantovan Figs and masterfully cooked at Le Tamerici. It contains no extra syrup like some mustard fruits, the jar is full of perfectly candied fruit that is lusciously soft and has the added kick of mustard oil.
Black fig mustard is the perfect accompaniment for strong cheeses. Washed rinds and blue cheeses like Gorgonzola, Roquefort and Stilton, but also great with pâté or a liver terrine. The sweetness of the fruit is followed by a controlled savioury kick of mustard.
