Pane Carasau, or "music bread", is a traditional product from Sardinia. This thin bread is produced only with durum wheat flour, water, salt and yeast. The origin of this bread comes from shepherds who were away from home for months tending their animals, it was an ideal, dry flat bread that keeps almost indefinately.
Pop into the oven for a couple of minutes to refresh. It can also be used in salads, as a base for pies or baked egg dishes or simply with cheese and antipasto.
